Background:
This ordinance will grant permission to the Director of Recreation and Parks to enter into a revenue generating contract with Go to Extreme Events Ltd. to serve as Jazz & Rib Fest Food and SDpecialty Beverage Service provider for the 2007 event.
One bid was received and opened on Monday, April 23, 2007.
The Contract Compliance number for Go to Extreme Events Ltd. is #77-0672136.
The term of the contract is for the 2007 event with an option for renewal within 90 days of event closure. The annual payment to Recreation and Parks is: 2007: $55,000.
The Recreation and Parks Department has determined it to be in the best public interest to contract with a service provider for the purpose of assuring highly competent food (non-rib operation) and specialty beverage (non-alcoholic) service, in order to furnish recreational opportunities of the highest quality obtainable and at a reasonable cost.
Fiscal Impact: $50,000 will be paid to the Recreation and Parks Department for 2007.

Body
WHEREAS, the Jazz & Rib Fest will take place July 20-22, 2007, and
WHEREAS, a service provider is needed to manage non-rib food and specialty beverage (non-alcoholic) concession operations at said event; and
WHEREAS, Go to Extreme Events Ltd. has over 75 years of experience in the event concession business and has the experience and resources necessary to perform such service for the 2007 Jazz & Rib Fest; and
WHEREAS, to this end, permission from the City of Columbus is required to assure food concessions are of the highest quality for the public and prepared under the management of an experienced company; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Director of Recreation and Parks be and is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Go to Extreme Ltd. to serve as Jazz & Rib Fest Food and Specialty Beverage Service provider for the event being held July 20-22, 2007.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
