Explanation

BACKGROUND:  This ordinance authorizes The Public Service Director to provide payment to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for the reconstruction of the SR315 bridge over Ackerman Road structure.  This project was scheduled to be performed by ODOT this year with City participation.  Prior to the scheduled work parts of the structure deteriorated and left a portion of the structure unsuitable for driving.  The schedule for reconstruction work was accelerated and the work was performed, thus funding from the city is now due.

FISCAL IMPACT:  The total share of the cost for the City is One Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars.  Funds for this project are budgeted in Fund 704 the Voted 1995, 1999, 2004 Streets and Highways Fund in the Federal State Match Project.

To authorize the Public Service Director to provide payment to the Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation for the SR315 over Ackerman Road reconstruction project; to authorize the expenditure of  $100,000.00 or so much thereof from the 1995, 1999, 2004 Voted Streets and Highways Fund for the Transportation Division.  ($100,000.00)

Body

WHEREAS, the City has entered into agreement proposing cooperation with the Director of the Ohio Department of Transportation (Director of Transportation) for the described project:

This project is for the reconstruction of  the existing SR315 Bridge over Ackerman Road; and

WHEREAS, this work was performed ahead of schedule due to the deterioration of the structure; and

WHEREAS,  payment is now due for the City's share of this project; now, therefore

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

Section 1.  That the Public Service Director be and is hereby authorized to expend $100,000.00 or so much thereof for payment to the Ohio Department of Transportation for the State Route 315 over Ackerman Road Reconstruction Project.

Section 2.  That this expenditure be and hereby is authorized from Fund 704, the 1995, 1999, 2004 Voted Streets and Highways Fund, Department No. 59-09, Transportation Division, Object Level One Code 06, Object Level Three Code 6631, OCA Code 644385 and Project 530208.

Section 3.  That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
