Background: Approval of Ordinance 0112-01 on January 22, 2001 established a six year contract with Maximus, Inc. for the purpose of providing software support for CourtView 2000, the Municipal Court Case Management System. Passage of this Ordinance will provide funding for the period April 1, 2005 thru March 31, 2006, the fifth year of the six year contract.
Fiscal Impact: Funds for this budgeted expenditure are available within the Municipal Court Clerk 2004 Special Revenue Fund appropriations.
Emergency: Emergency legislations is requested to maintain ongoing and uninterrupted software support for CourtView 2000, the Municipal Court Case Management System.

To authorize and direct the Director of the Department of Finance to enter into the fifth year of a six year contract with Maximus Inc. for CourtView 2000 software support on behalf of the Municipal Court Clerk, to authorize the expenditure of $178,820.00 from the Clerks Special Revenue Fund, and to declare an emergency. Whereas, Council approved Ordinance 0112-01 on January 22, 2001 to establish a six year agreement with Maximus, Inc. for CourtView 2000 primary software and secondary web-site software support, and
Whereas, it is necessary to secure support for the period April 1, 2005 thru March 31, 2006, the fifth year of the six year agreement; now therefore
Whereas, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Municipal Court Clerk's Office, in that it is immediately necessary to provide for ongoing and uninterrupted software support for the Municipal Court's case management system, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That the Director of the Department of Finance be and is hereby authorized to enter into the fifth year of a six year contract with Maximus, Inc. for CourtView 2000 software support on behalf of the Municipal Court Clerk, period of April 1, 2005 thru March 31, 2006.
Section 2. That for paying the cost thereof, the sum of $178,820.00 or so much thereof as may be needed is hereby authorized to be expended from the Municipal Court Clerk Special Revenue Fund, Fund 227, Organization One 2601, Subfund No. 02, OCA Code 260208, Object Level One 03, Object Level Three 3369.
Section 3. That for reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
