Explanation
BACKGROUND
This legislation authorizes the Director of Public Utilities to enter into a contract with the government entity The Ohio State University, for soil sampling and laboratory services as set forth in the Scope of Services.
The term of this Contract is from date of execution until July 31, 2027. If unforeseen issues or difficulties are encountered that would require additional funding, a modification would be requested.

To authorize the Department of the Department of Public Utilities, to enter into a contract for soil sampling and laboratory services as set forth in the Scope of Services with Ohio State University for the Division of Water Reclamation; to authorize the expenditure of $106,738.00 from the Sewer Operating Fund. ($106,738.00)
Body
WHEREAS, Ohio State University is a government entity; and
WHEREAS, the expenditure of $106,738.00, or so much thereof as may be needed, is hereby authorized in Fund 6100, Sewer Operating Fund, in object class 03, Services, per the accounting codes attached to the ordinance; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Department of Public Utilities, to authorize the Director of Public Utilities to enter into a contract for soil sampling and laboratory services with Ohio State University; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Director of Public Utilities is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Ohio State University for soil sampling and laboratory services on behalf of the Division of Water Reclamation, in the amount of $106,738.00.
SECTION 2. That the expenditure of $106,738.00 or so much thereof as may be needed, is hereby authorized in Fund 6100, Sewer Operating Fund, in object class 03, Services, per the accounting codes attached to the ordinance.
SECTION 3. That the funds necessary to carry out the purpose of this ordinance are hereby deemed appropriated and the City Auditor shall establish such accounting codes as necessary.
SECTION 4. That the City Auditor is authorized to make any accounting changes to revise the funding source for all contracts or contract modifications associated with this ordinance.
SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowable by law.
