Explanation
Background:
This ordinance will enable the Director of Recreation and Parks to modify the revenue generating contract with Joseph V. Vittorio, dba Ricardo's Restaurant, Inc., for food concessions at Mentel Memorial and Champions Golf Courses. Bids were received by the Recreation and Parks Department on September 11, 2001, for food concessions at Mentel Memorial and Champions Golf Courses. The term of CT00872R is for three (3) years through December 31, 2004, with the option to renew on an annual basis for three (3) additional years.
This modification will reduce the required payment to the City by:
1) $2,500.00 in 2005 for a total annual payment of $80,000.
2) $2,500.00 in 2006 for a total annual payment of $82,500.00
3) $2,500.00 in 2007 for a total annual payment of $85,000.00.
All other terms and conditions of CT00872R will remain the same.
Emergency legislation is requested to enable revenues generated from this contract to be paid to the city as soon as possible.
Fiscal Impact:
Revenue funds will continue to be received from Ricardo's Restaurant, Inc. from 2005 through 2007.

Body
WHEREAS, it is necessary to modify the revenue generating contract for the food concessions at Mentel Memorial and Champions Golf Courses; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to enter into said contract modification to enable revenues be paid to the city as soon as possible; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Director of Recreation and Parks be and he is hereby authorized and directed to modify CT00872R with Joseph V. Vittorio, dba Ricardo's Restaurant, Inc., for food concessions at Mentel Memorial and Champions Golf Courses, to continue from January 31, 2005 through December 31, 2007. All other terms and conditions of CT00872R remain the same.
SECTION 2. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
