Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to modify Contract EL017225 with the Godman Guild by extending the contract termination date from January 31, 2016 to May 31, 2016. This contract supports the Guild’s Pathways to Work program. This legislation would modify the Agreement authorized by Ordinance 0669-2015, passed on March 23, 2015.
Emergency action is requested so program activities can be completed without further delay.
FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funds are needed for this modification.

To authorize the Director of the Department of Development to modify the Pathways to Work contract with the Godman Guild by extending the contract termination date to May 31, 2016; and to declare an emergency.
Body
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Development desires to modify Contract EL017225 with the Godman Guild by extending the contract termination date from January 31, 2016 to May 31, 2016; and
WHEREAS, this contract supports the Guild’s Pathways to Work program; and
WHEREAS, this modification will allow the Godman Guild to complete its goals; and
WHEREAS, no additional funds are needed to modify this agreement; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Development in that it is immediately necessary to modify the agreement with the Godman Guild so program activities can be completed without further delay, all for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Director of the Department of Development is hereby authorized to modify Contract EL017225 with the Godman Guild by extending the contract termination date from January 31, 2016 to May 31, 2016.
SECTION 2. That this modification is made in accordance with the relevant provisions of City Code Chapter 329 relating to contract modifications.
SECTION 3. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
