To recognize and congratulate Ms. Annie McAfee on her 102nd Birthday on August 16, 2007.

WHEREAS, Ms. McAfee is a resident of the Heritage Community and a citizen of exemplary character; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. McAfee has been an active and enthusiastic member of The Pool of Bethsaida Church; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. McAfee's family and friends wish to celebrate her life as a gift to all of us and a testimony of God's grace and mercy; and  
 
WHEREAS, Ms. McAfee has served a critically important role in helping The Pool of Bethsaida Church become a guiding light in our community as they minister to the needs of all people by spreading Christ's liberating gospel through word and deed; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That this Council does hereby join with the family and friends of Ms. Annie McAfee in wishing you a very happy 102nd birthday.
 
WHEREAS,  Ms. Annie McAfee has made tremendous contributions to the Columbus Department of Recreation and Parks through her participation in walking, sewing, and knitting at the Howard Recreation Center; and
 
WHEREAS,  Ms. McAfee has graciously donated her time, talent and resources in assisting The Pool of Bethesda Church to become a center of leadership as they minister to the needs of the community; and
 
WHEREAS,  Ms. McAfee was for many years an active and enthusiastic member of The Pool of Bethesda Church, which has also honored her life and legacy of love and service as a trustee and for her service on the church's finance committee; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. McAfee a gracious and spiritual woman who considers herself to be truly blessed, has continually demonstrated her willingness to place her concern for her fellow citizen and the public good ahead of her personal interests; and
 
WHEREAS,  Ms. McAfee has been a guiding light in our community and has exemplified the mission to minister to the material, intellectual, and spiritual needs of all; and
 
WHEREAS,   Ms. McAfee's family and friends wish to celebrate her life as a gift to all of us and a testimony of God's grace and mercy; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby recognize Annie McAfee for her life-long efforts toward developing a sense of community through her service to The Pool of Bethesda Church, The Howard Recreation Center, and the City of Columbus.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be presented to Ms. Annie McAfee with our esteem.
