Explanation
1. BACKGROUND
This ordinance authorizes the City Clerk, on behalf of City Council, to modify past, present, and future contracts and purchase orders with Radio One, EIN 52-1166660 (Vendor Account # 009034), to reflect their new legal name, Blue Chip Broadcasting LLC, EIN 31-1459349 (Vendor Account #005439).
No additional funds are necessary to modify the open contracts as requested. The original terms and conditions of all affected contracts remain in effect.
2. FISCAL IMPACT
No additional monies are required to modify the contracts.
3. EMERGENCY DESIGNATION
Emergency action is requested in order to update all existing contracts for review and payment to the renamed vendor and new Federal Tax ID number.

WHEREAS, City Council has multiple contracts and open purchase orders for projects with Radio One, Account # 009034,; and
WHEREAS, Radio One has changed its legal corporate name to Blue Chip Broadcasting LLC (Vendor Account #005439) as the result of a corporate merger and has agreed to honor the past, present and future contracts and agreements; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of City Council, in that it is immediately necessary to authorize the City Clerk, on behalf of City Council, to modify all contracts and purchase orders established and in process with, Radio One to reflect the new name and Federal Tax ID number for Blue Chip Broadcasting LLC, thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the City Clerk, on behalf of City Council, is hereby authorized to modify all past, present and future contracts and purchase orders pursuant to those contracts to reflect the change from Radio One, EIN 52-1166660 (Vendor Account # 009034), to Blue Chip Broadcasting LLC, EIN 31-1459349 (Vendor Account #005439).
SECTION 2. That this modification is in accordance with applicable sections of the Columbus City Codes in relating to contract modifications.
SECTION 3. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
