Explanation
Background: This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development
to enter into a short-term lease agreement with Jaeger Commerce Park Limited Partnership for
space located at 560 Dublin Avenue for use by the Mobile Tool Program.
Fiscal Impact: The City will pay $1850.00 per month incurring no rental increases.
$12,950.00 is available from within the Department of Development's Community
Development Block Grant Fund for the Mobile Tool Program space lease.
Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested due to expiration of the current
lease.

To authorize the Director of the Department of Development to enter into a short-term lease agreement with Jaeger Commerce Park Limited Partnership for the Mobile Tool Program; to authorize the expenditure of $12,950.00 from the Community Development Block Grant Fund; and to declare an emergency ($12,950.00)
Body
WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Development desires to enter into a short-term lease agreement with Jaeger Commerce Park Limited Partnership; and
WHEREAS, the lease property is located at 560 Dublin Avenue and the short term lease agreement will be for a seven month period; and
WHEREAS, the leased space will be used by the Mobile Tool Program; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Department of Development, in that it is immediately necessary to enter into this lease agreement in order to meet the agreed occupancy dates thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety, and welfare; and NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That the Director of the Department of Development is hereby authorized and directed to execute any documents approved as necessary to enter into a lease agreement by and between the City of Columbus, Ohio and Jaeger Commerce Park Limited Partnership for a period if seven months.
Section 2. That for the purpose stated in Section 1, the expenditure of $12,950.00 or so much thereof as may be necessary and is hereby authorized to be expended from the Community Development Block Grant Fund, Department of Development, Housing Division, Division No. 44-10, Fund 248, Object Level One 03, Object Level Three 3301, OCA Code 445010.
Section 3. That for the reasons stated in the preamble hereto, which is hereby made a part hereof, this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its approval by the Mayor, or ten days after passage if the Mayor neither approves nor vetoes the same.
