To honor and commend Terry D. Foegler for his leadership and profound impact on the City of Columbus with the revitalization and commercial development in the Ohio State University campus area and the creation of the Science and Technology Campus.

WHEREAS, Terry D. Foegler has led The Ohio State University's innovative and highly acclaimed Campus Partners initiative as president since 1996. Campus Partners is a not-for-profit development corporation established in 1995 to spearhead the university's engagement in a comprehensive revitalization program for the neighborhoods surrounding Ohio State's main campus; and
WHEREAS, since 2006, Mr. Foegler also has served as the president of the Science and Technology Campus Corporation (Scitech), another of Ohio State's affiliated entities, responsible for managing and developing the university's science and technology park on the west campus, and for overseeing a strategic planning program for Scitech to maximize the opportunities for growing and accommodating research activity, new business development and partnerships with established corporate research operations; and
WHEREAS, with more than 30 years in a wide variety of both public and private sector senior-level management positions, Mr. Foegler has extensive experience involving complex urban neighborhood revitalization, economic development, mixed-use project implementation, public-private development partnerships, formulation of strategic planning and development policies, economic development, and engagement and consensus-building with community stakeholders and organizational leaders; and
WHEREAS, Campus Partners' signature project is South Campus Gateway. Mr. Foegler directed the planning, design, construction, financing and leasing of this $160 million mixed-use project. South Campus Gateway includes 500,000 square feet of a dynamic blend of retail, entertainment, housing, office uses and parking within a series of buildings whose architectural quality exemplifies the best in "Main Street" urban design; and
WHEREAS, among other projects, Mr. Foegler also directed Community Properties of Ohio, which provided housing rehabilitation, the provision of needed supportive services, dramatically improved property management, the preservation of affordable housing, and the de-concentration of poverty, and also the revitalization of the Columbus Coated Fabrics site after securing control of this key 21-acre redevelopment site from a federal bankruptcy court; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby honor and commend Terry D. Foegler for his leadership and profound impact on the City of Columbus with the revitalization and commercial development in the Ohio State University campus area and the creation of the Science and Technology Campus.
