Explanation
BACKGROUND:  This ordinance authorizes the Director of Public Safety to enter into a modification of Contract Number CT16625 between the City of Columbus and Kenneth W. Borror for E-911 Consulting Services, for the period of July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2004, on behalf of the Division of Communications, to ensure uninterrupted coordination services for the E-911 System and for coordinating activities between all entities, such as PUCO, Ameritech, the Local, State, and Federal Governments, and collecting and updating information needed to maintain the E-911 System for the City of Columbus and Franklin County.
 
CONTRACT COMPLIANCE:  Contract Compliance #298202731
 
FISCAL IMPACT:  Sufficient funds for the expenditure are available in the Division of Communications' 2003 General Fund Appropriation.

To authorize the Director of Public Safety to execute a contract modification with Kenneth W. Borror, for E-911 Consulting Services, for the Division of Communications, and to authorizxe the expenditure of $27,940.00
 
Body
 
WHEREAS,  Kenneth W. Borror has provided E-911consulting services of said contract beginning in 1995; and,
 
WHEREAS,  The Division of Communications has determined it necesdsary to modify and extend conract #CT16625 fo the continued E-911 coordination servies thereby preserving the public health, peace, property, safety and welfare; now therefore,
 
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS
 
Section 1.  That the Director of Public Safety be, an hereby is authorized to enter into modification of Contract Number CT16625 with Kenneth W. Borror for consulting services of E-911.
 
Section 2.  That for the purpose of paying the cost of the said contract modification, the following expenditure, or as much therof as may be needed, be and the same is hereby authorized as follows:
 
Division 30-02;  Fund  010; Obj Level 2,  03; Obj Level 3, 3336;  OCA CODE 301721;  Amount $27, 940.00.
 
Section 3.  That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
