To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Charlotte Y. Price, 1956-2025

WHEREAS Charlotte Y. Price was born to Preston and Rebecca Buckley on March 7, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio, and spent her formative years between Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Wenonah, New Jersey; and

WHEREAS Charlotte Price was a distinguished scholar, having graduated from Deptford Township High School in 1974, earned a bachelor’s degree from Delaware State University, and obtained a master’s degree in Education from The Ohio State University; and

WHEREAS Charlotte Price dedicated her professional life to the field of education, serving as a Special Education teacher for over 25 years within the Columbus City School System, where she made a lasting impact on countless students, both in the classroom and beyond, including through her work in the I-Pass program at North Adult; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte Price achieved the esteemed honor of becoming a Nationally Board-Certified Teacher, demonstrating her commitment to excellence in education; and

WHEREAS,  Charlotte Price was a devoted and faithful member of Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church, where she served with unwavering dedication in numerous capacities, including as Superintendent of Sunday School, Sunday School teacher, leader within the Deaconess Board, and organizer of plays and programs for children’s ministry; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte Price was an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., through which she fostered sisterhood and service, engaging in activities and initiatives that advanced the mission of the organization; and

WHEREAS, Charlotte Price was an enthusiastic participant in various social and intellectual circles, including book clubs, bible studies, and the Spirited Scrappers, where she cultivated meaningful relationships and enriched the lives of those around her; and

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS  that the City of Columbus hereby recognizes and honors the life of Charlotte Y. Price, 1956-2025
