Explanation

 

This legislation authorizes the Director of Public Utilities to enter into an agreement with Real Time Networks Inc. to provide funding for the installation of a new key cabinet lock box system. This lock box system will secure the keys to Department of Sewers and Drains vehicles at the Jackson Pike Waste Water Treatment Plant. The agreement for this service will be established in accordance with the pertinent provisions for Sole Source Procurement of Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Code. 

 

Real Time Networks Inc. system includes unique and proprietary features such as RFID technology on keys and other assets allowing for real time tracking, unique identifiers for users accessing, and other technologies such as Key Tracker System, Door Exit Solution, and Asset Tracer Locker systems which are supported by proprietary hardware, enterprise network solutions, and software licensing. Real Time Networks Inc. has already installed similar lock box systems across the Department of Public Utilities.

Body

 

WHEREAS, there is a need for Lockbox systems at the Jackson Pike Waste Water Treatment Plant facility; and

 

WHEREAS, this legislation is being submitted in accordance with the relevant provisions of Chapter 329 of City Code relating to sole-source procurement; and

 

WHEREAS, that the expenditure of $80,755.00 or so much thereof as may be needed, is hereby authorized in Fund 6100, Sewer Operating Sanitary Fund, in object class 03, Services, per the accounting codes in the attachment to this ordinance; and

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

 

SECTION 1. That the Director of the Department of Public Utilities is hereby authorized to enter into contract with Real Time Networks Inc., 16-1833 Coast Meridian Road, Port Coquitlam, British Columbia Canada V3C 6G5, for the installation of a new key cabinet lock box system at the Jackson Pike Waster Water Treatment Plant Facility, in accordance with the pertinent provisions for Sole Source procurement of Chapter 329 of the Columbus City Codes. 

 

SECTION 2.  That this contract is in accordance with the relevant provisions of Chapter 329 of City Code relating to sole-source procurement.

 

SECTION 3. That the expenditure of $80,755.00, or so much thereof as may be needed, is hereby authorized in Fund 6100, Sewer Operating Sanitary Fund, in object class 03, Services, per the accounting codes in the attachment to this ordinance.

 

SECTION 4.  That the funds necessary to carry out the purpose of this ordinance are hereby deemed appropriated and the City Auditor shall establish such accounting codes as necessary.

 

SECTION 5. That the City Auditor is authorized to make any accounting changes to revise the funding source for all contracts or contract modifications associated with this ordinance.

 

SECTION 6.  That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
