Explanation
Background:
Ordinance No. 1712-2023 authorized the expenditure of up to $849,600 from the Department of Neighborhoods General Fund - Fund 1000 to engage the Eastland community, City Departments, and other community partners to develop a comprehensive community plan for the Eastland area.
The ordinance is needed to modify PO396050 by extending the contract with MKSK through December 1, 2024 and a scope of services modification to include Phase 4 of the project. This phase of work culminates in a finalized comprehensive Eastland Community Plan that will come together through a collaborative, community-driven 16-month process.
Fiscal Impact: No additional funding is required to modify and extend this contract. This legislation does not have a fiscal impact.

To authorize the Director of the Department of Neighborhoods to modify and extend an existing contract with MKSK through December 1, 2024 and modify the scope of services to include Phase 4 of the project. (0.00)
Body
WHEREAS, it is necessary to extend and modify contract PO396050 with MKSK through December 1, 2024 in order to complete the 16-month community planning project; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to modify the contract scope of services to include Phase 4, the remainder of the 16-month community planning project, to ensure the completion of the final plan for the project; and
WHEREAS, the current contract terminates July 31, 2024. NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Director of the Department of Neighborhoods be, and hereby is, authorized to modify and extend contract PO396050 with MKSK to December 1, 2024.
SECTION 2. That the City Auditor is authorized to make any accounting changes to revise the funding source for all contracts or contract modifications associated with this ordinance.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
