To honor, recognize and congratulate Columbus Speech & Hearing on 100 years of success in serving the communication needs of central Ohio
Body
WHEREAS, Columbus Speech & Hearing, founded in 1923 as the League for the Hard of Hearing, has remained firmly grounded in its mission to unlock potential for individuals with communication challenges through all stages of life; and,
WHEREAS, Columbus Speech & Hearing serves more than 8,000 central Ohio children and adults annually through audiology and hearing aid services, speech-language therapy, American Sign Language classes, community outreach programs, and through a Support Services Provider program; and,
WHEREAS, Columbus Speech & Hearing offers personalized services and programs to help transform lives and improve the communication and well-being of every person who walks through their doors - treating every patient regardless of their ability to pay; and,
WHEREAS, Columbus Speech & Hearing recognizes the growing need for speech and hearing services in central Ohio and currently serves clients in three office locations in Clintonville, Dublin and Westerville, with an eye on expanding this footprint and reach to new communities in the future; and,
WHEREAS, Columbus Speech & Hearing is committed to providing community outreach programs to those who need it most, especially in low-income neighborhoods, to help ensure any child with a communications disorder or delay can be identified and have access to affordable, high-quality intervention services; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this council hereby honors, recognizes, and congratulates Columbus Speech & Hearing on the organization’s 100th anniversary and commitment to serving the central Ohio community.
