To Recognize and Commend Clay J. Chambers for His 37 Years of Distinguished Service to the City of Columbus

WHEREAS, Clay Chambers has been a lifelong resident of the City of Columbus where he attended Bishop Hartley High School; and
WHEREAS, Clay Chambers, for the last 37 years, has served the City of Columbus with distinction, honesty, and integrity and has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to the citizens of Columbus while working for various departments in the City such as Recreation and Parks, Parking Violations Bureau, and the City Treasurer’s Office; and
WHEREAS, Clay Chambers has rightfully earned the respect and affection of his colleagues for his patient, tireless, and devoted dedication to making sure that every check gets deposited timely and that cash deposits balance to the penny, regardless of technological and mechanical problems; and
WHEREAS, Clay Chambers has followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming an employee of the City of Columbus and has served the role of guardian of personal information for the citizens of Columbus for the past 37 years by ensuring that their personal identifiers on their payments are kept secure; and
WHEREAS, Clay Chambers has been blessed with four talented daughters who have each attended Columbus Public Schools being recognized as outstanding student-athletes with numerous accomplishments for academic and athletic success with each receiving college scholarships; and
WHEREAS, Clay Chambers plans to spend his time in retirement traveling with his loving and devoted wife Cheryl, spend time with his four daughters and nine grandchildren, and will live by the adage “live, laugh and love” while cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns; and
WHEREAS, Clay Chambers will be sorely missed by friends and colleagues as he sets out for the next chapter in his life; his legacy in the Treasurer’s Office will forever live on; now, therefore
