To honor and recognize Clinton Elementary's 100 years of Excellence.
Body
WHEREAS, Clinton Elementary first opened its doors to students in 1924 and for the past century it has served thousands of Columbus residents; and
WHEREAS, 445 students currently attend Clinton Elementary, demonstrating its continued impact on students on families within the District; and
WHEREAS, Clinton students consistently rank in the top three for CCS on the State of Ohio Achievement Tests for third, fourth, and fifth grades. Clinton Elementary School received 5 out of 5 stars on the Ohio State Report Card in areas of Achievement, Progress, and Gap Closing; and
WHEREAS, Clinton Elementary offers students the opportunity to participate in safety patrol, band, choir, chess club, Momentum, Girls on the Run, Let me Run, JA BizTown, fourth-grade Audubon programs, and fifth-grade overnight Camp Oty'Okwa trip; and
WHEREAS, the Clinton Elementary parent community the school by volunteering in classrooms, sitting on committees to provide additional support, and leading extracurricular activities. The PTA sponsors an annual Ice Cream Social, International Night, Read-a-Thon, and Wild Wonders Zoo Program; and
WHEREAS, Clinton Elementary students consistently score well above the state levels of proficiency in both reading and math, which is a testament to the hard-work, diligence, and dedication of the students, teachers, parents, and staff at the school; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby honor, recognize, and celebrate Clinton Elementary for its 100 years of Excellence and contributions to the City of Columbus.
