Title: To authorize the Finance and Management Director to modify past, present and future contract(s) and purchase orders from PerkinElmer Health Sciences, Inc. to PerkinElmer U.S. LLC and to declare an emergency.
Explanation

BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to modify past, present, and future contracts and purchase orders with PerkinElmer Health Sciences, Inc. who has undergone a reorganization. This ordinance authorizes the assignment of all past, present, and future business done by the City of Columbus from PerkinElmer Health Sciences, Inc. to PerkinElmer U.S. LLC.

No additional funds are necessary to modify the option contract(s) as requested. There is no change in the type of products being procured and the original contract was formally bid. The original terms and conditions remain in effect.

EMERGENCY DESIGNATION: The Finance and Management Department respectfully requests this legislation be considered an emergency in order to maintain an uninterrupted supply of consumable products, repair parts, maintenance and repair services for equipment in laboratories.

FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funding is required to modify the option contract. The Department of Public Utilities must set aside their own funding for their estimated expenditures.

WHEREAS, the Finance and Management Department, Purchasing Office has an option contract and open purchase orders for Perkin Elmer Consumable Items, Repair Parts, Maintenance and Repair Services for use by Department of Public Utilities; and,

WHEREAS, PerkinElmer Health Sciences, Inc. has reorganized and changed its legal name to PerkinElmer U.S. LLC and in addition to notifying the City, PerkinElmer U.S. LLC has agreed to honor the past, present and future contracts and agreements; and,
