Explanation

This legislation will authorize the appropriation and expenditure of up to $13,400,000.00 to increase various contracts for the provision of PASSPORT home care and Assisted Living services for older adults in Central Ohio.
Ordinance No. 1386-2022, passed July 14, 2022, authorized various PASSPORT and Assisted Living contracts for the period beginning July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023 in accordance with grant requirements. This ordinance authorizes additional funding for said contracts to ensure funding is available to support the term of the contract through Jun 30, 2023, per the attached contract list.
Additional grant funds are being made available to the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging from the Ohio Department of Aging for the remainder of the period from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.
EMERGENCY DESIGNATION:
Emergency action is requested in order to meet the conditions of the grant so that providers can be paid within 30 days of providing service, and so that services can continue until June 30, 2023, without interruption.
Fiscal Impact:
$13,400,000.00 in funds have been made available to the Recreation and Parks grant fund. $13,400,000.00 is required and budgeted from the Recreation and Parks Grant Fund to meet the financial obligation for said contracts.
