To Honor, Recognize, and Celebrate Demetries Neely and her Leadership of the King Arts Complex.

WHEREAS, Demetries Neely first joined the board of the King Arts Complex, a leading civic and cultural institution in the City of Columbus, in 1999; and
WHEREAS, in the 25 years since, Demetries has been a dedicated and visionary leader, helping reinvigorate the Kings Art Complex and ensure the continued success of the historic institution; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of her strong presence on the board, Demetries was a clear choice to lead the organization and was selected as CEO and Executive Director in 2011; and
WHEREAS, under Demetries’ leadership, the King Arts Complex achieved unprecedented financial sustainability by reaching debt-free status and investing in major capital projects while growing the donor base, cultivated new partnerships with community organizations, and ushered in a new era of modern and engaging programming options to enhance the cultural offerings produced by the institution; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus thanks Demetries for her 25 years of service to the King Arts Complex and wishes her the best of luck in her next ventures and knows that wherever she ends up, she will continue her strong legacy of service and commitment to her community; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council honors, recognizes, and celebrates Demetries Neely and her leadership of the King Arts Complex.
