Explanation
This ordinance authorizes the Director of the Department of Recreation and Parks to enter into an advance pay grant agreement with Linden Block Party 614, dba We Are Linden, a non-profit entity, in support of the organization’s capacity building.
We Are Linden is a non-profit, community-based organization driven by a single goal - to do its part in making the Linden community a better place for all. We Are Linden builds productive relationships and changes the lives of individuals, families & communities through positive programs, events, and helpful resources.
We Are Linden catalyzes youth development, civic engagement, and positive relationship building in order to create and support equitable long-term community development and stability. We Are Linden uses a 2-prong strategy designed to reduce community violence by supporting, empowering, and providing high-quality resources to our young people in a safe and secure environment. Their activities and curriculum build together to support a strong and healthy Linden through youth mindset development and community connection.
Fiscal Impact: Funding is available within the Recreation and Parks operating fund 2285.
