To Honor and Celebrate the 65th Anniversary of the Founding of Bible Way Church
Body
WHEREAS, Bible Way Church was founded in 1960 by Bishop William C. Latta, beginning with a small congregation of approximately 100 members and now serving between 400 and 600 congregants; and,
WHEREAS, for 65 years, Bible Way Church has been a pillar of the Hilltop community, offering consistent outreach and support to individuals and families in need; and,
WHEREAS, the Church organizes an annual school supply drive every August, equipping local children with essential supplies, food, and clothing to support their academic success; and,
WHEREAS, Bible Way Church distributes Thanksgiving meals and Christmas toys and food to families across the community, ensuring holiday support for those experiencing financial hardship; and,
WHEREAS, the Church regularly visits nursing homes, providing residents with personal care items, hygiene supplies, and spiritual comfort; and,
WHEREAS, Bible Way Church visits nursing homes frequently and provides personal supplies and hygiene products; and,
WHEREAS, after Bishop William Latta’s tenure, his son, Pastor Timothy Latta, assumed leadership and has faithfully served as pastor for the past 14 years, continuing the Church’s legacy of service and compassion; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS,
That this Council does hereby honor and celebrate the 65th anniversary of the founding of Bible Way Church and recognizes its enduring commitment to faith, service, and community leadership in the Hilltop neighborhood.
