Title: To accept Memorandum of Understanding #2014-02 executed between representatives of the City of Columbus and Columbus Municipal Association of Government Employees (CMAGE)/CWA Local 4502, which amends the Collective Bargaining Agreement, April 24, 2011 through April 23, 2014; and to declare an emergency.

Explanation
The Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Columbus and the Columbus Municipal Association of Government Employees (CMAGE)/CWA Local 4502, requires that any modifications to the contract be agreed between the parties. Memorandum of Understanding #2014-02 has been executed by the parties to amend Appendix B (classification listing) as shown in the attached Memorandum of Understanding #2014-02.
The passage of this ordinance indicates Council's acceptance of Memorandum of Understanding #2014-02, a copy of which is attached hereto.

Emergency action is recommended in order to implement the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding in a timely manner.

Any cost associated with an adjustment in pay will be absorbed by the Department of Public Utilities.

WHEREAS, representatives of the City and Columbus Municipal Association of Government Employees (CMAGE)/CWA Local 4502 entered into Memorandum of Understanding #2014-02, a copy of which is attached hereto, which amends Appendix B of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and CMAGE/CWA Local 4502, April 24, 2011 through April 23, 2014; and

WHEREAS, any cost associated with an adjustment in pay will be absorbed by the Department of Public Utilities; and,

WHEREAS, emergency action is recommended in order to implement the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding in a timely manner; and,

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the City in that it is immediately necessary to amend the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and CMAGE/CWA Local 4502, by accepting Memorandum of Understanding #2014-02; thereby preserving the public peace, ...
