Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Development to amend contract number DL011527 with ATC Associates for lead based paint inspections, risk assessments, creating lead hazard control work specifications and final clearance testing on housing units for the City of Columbus, Department of Development. The contractor may be asked to perform scope of services by single "activity" per housing unit or "any combination of all four activities" per housing unit. The amendment will provide an additional $49,500 from Round 12 Lead Grant funds and extend the contract to July 31, 2008.
The City of Columbus provides grants and loans to qualified property owners in order to remove lead based paint hazards in owner and tenant occupied units.
This legislation is presented in an effort to increase the productivity for creating lead safe housing units, the numbers of which will increase as we meet the targets of our Department of Development Housing Services programs and comply with the Title X Federal regulations, which took affect September 15, 2000.
Emergency action is requested to allow program services to continue without interruption.
FISCAL IMPACT: Funds for this expenditure are allocated from HUD Round 12 Lead Grant funds.
