Explanation
Background: On April 3, 2026, Columbus City Council adopted Ordinance No 0766-2026 which authorized the Department of Public Safety to enter into a multi-year, renewable preventative maintenance contract with Stryker Sales Corporation LLC. Ordinance 0766-2026 identified the term of this contract as three (3) years with the option of two (2) additional one (1) year renewal terms by mutual agreement of the parties and approval by City Council. This ordinance amends Ordinance 0766-2026 to modify the term to five (5) years instead of the originally stated three (3) years with the option of two (2) additional one (1) year renewal terms.
Fiscal Impact: This ordinance will have no fiscal impact.
Emergency Designation: This ordinance is being submitted as an emergency request to allow for expedient implementation to immediately enact changes in the contract being negotiated by the Department of Public Safety.

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 0766-2026 was adopted by Columbus City Council on April 3, 2026, and authorized: the Director of the Department of Public Safety, on behalf of the Division of Fire, to enter into a contract with Stryker Sales Corporation LLC for preventative maintenance and repair services; authorized the contract as multi-year and renewable; waived the competitive bidding provisions of the Columbus City Code; and, authorized the expenditure of $31,688.00 for Year 1 of the multi-year contract; and
