To recognize and honor Dr. Shirley Palumbo on being named the 2020 ThisWeek Booster Community Volunteer of the Year.

WHEREAS, Dr. Shirley Palumbo is being honored on Thursday, February 27th by the Clintonville Area Chamber of Commerce and ThisWeek Booster for her ongoing work in the Clintonville community; and
WHEREAS, Shirley has a long history of involvement in the Clintonville community. She is past president of the Clintonville Woman’s Club, where she has been a member since 2006, and a current member of the board of trustees; and
WHEREAS, annual community events such as Buckeye Tailgate, Corn Roast, and Santa’s Breakfast have all seen continued success with Shirley as chair; and
WHEREAS, currently, Shirley is Co-Chair of the club’s Fund Raising Committee, and a member of the Women Helping Women interest group, which provides cash donations, clothing, and toiletries to local programs helping women in recovery, homeless women, and women who are victims of human trafficking; and
WHEREAS, Shirley is also a recent past president of the Kiwanis Club of Northern Columbus, and is actively involved in the club’s Key Club program; and
WHEREAS, no matter the organization, Shirley is always willing to step up to lead and help others inside the organization or in the community. She is a hard worker who never hesitates to volunteer for whatever needs to be done; and
WHEREAS, Columbus City Council thanks Dr. Shirley Palumbo for her hard work and dedication to our beloved Clintonville community; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That Columbus City Council does hereby recognize and honor Dr. Shirley Palumbo for her contributions to Clintonville and the City of Columbus.
