To Recognize and Celebrate Jason Jenkins’ Service and Contribution to the City of Columbus

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, Jason T. Jenkins has dedicated his career to public service in Columbus, guided by a commitment to equity, inclusion, and expanding opportunity for all residents; and

 

WHEREAS, Jason currently serves as Chief Diversity Officer and Executive Director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion under Mayor Andrew J. Ginther, where he leads citywide efforts to advance supplier diversity, workforce inclusion, and equitable policy implementation in alignment with the vision of making Columbus “America’s Opportunity City”; and

 

WHEREAS, in his prior role as Director of Community Affairs in the Mayor’s Office, Jason strengthened civic engagement by fostering transparency, building trust, and maintaining strong relationships across Columbus’s diverse communities; and

 

WHEREAS, a proud native of Columbus’s Linden community, Jason’s personal and professional journey exemplifies the transformative impact of opportunity, education, and public service; and

 

WHEREAS, he continues to serve the community through leadership roles on various boards and advisory bodies, contributing to initiatives that support economic development, cultural vitality, and inclusive growth and has been recognized for his leadership and impact through numerous honors, including Columbus Business First’s 40 Under 40 and C-Suite Award; and

 

WHEREAS, Jason Jenkins has consistently demonstrated humility, integrity, and a deep commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable Columbus and this city commends him for his leadership in advancing equity, inclusion, and opportunity, and for his continued dedication to strengthening the fabric of the community; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council hereby recognizes and celebrates Jason T. Jenkins for his outstanding service and meaningful contributions to the residents of Columbus.
