Title
To recognize and honor President Sue E. Moore and The Twin Rivers Chapter of The Links, Incorporated for their 16th Annual Christmas Fundraiser entitled Christmas Jewels.
Body
WHEREAS, The Twin Rivers Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is part of a national organization of over 10,000 professional African American women committed to working collaboratively with community groups and organizations to foster and promote the well being of our community locally and abroad; and
WHEREAS, The Twin Rivers Chapter of the Links, Incorporated is committed to the uplift of the greater Columbus community through their work with the Junior Docent Program, an annual summer training program for middle and high school students who learn about and conduct tours of current exhibits at the King Arts Complex; and
WHEREAS, The Twin Rivers Chapter of the Links Incorporated fosters a healthy community by sponsoring "A Family Health Affair", an annual community health fair for Head Start families and the urban community as well as "Link to Life", an ongoing collaborative program for selected students in Columbus City Schools; and
WHEREAS, Proceeds from the 16th Annual "Christmas Jewels" Fundraiser will go towards the preservation and expansion of all current projects that the Twin Rivers Chapter of the Links, Incorporated maintains; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That The Twin Rivers Chapter of The Links, Incorporated be honored for their dedicated service to the City of Columbus, and revered for hosting the 16th Annual "Christmas Jewels" Fundraiser.
