Explanation

Background: The City of Columbus (hereinafter "City") desires to purchase that real property commonly known as 1084 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43222, for the expansion of Fire Station 10, which lies adjacent to the subject property. Keith Mason Sr. and Rozalene Mason, jointly and severally (hereinafter "Owner"), desire to sell the property to the City. This legislation authorizes the Director of the Department of Finance and Management to execute those documents necessary to purchase the aforementioned real property and to expend $176,500.00 for cost relevant to its acquisition.

Fiscal Impact: The Department of Public Safety, Division of Fire has determined that the expenditure for this purchase will come from the Safety Voted Bond Fund.

Emergency Justification: Emergency action is requested to allow the purchase of the subject real property without delay in order to comply with the terms of the purchase agreement.
