To Recognize Jed Morrison and Congratulate him on his Retirement from the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities

 

Body

WHEREAS, Jed Morrison has been a dedicated public servant since 1969, holding numerous roles in service to his community during his 54 year career; and

WHEREAS, Jed recently announced his well-deserved retirement from his position as superintendent and CEO of the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities; and

 

WHEREAS, Jed has long been an advocate for people with disabilities, serving as an instructor at the Columbus State Institute (now the Columbus Developmental Center) and in as Director of the Ohio Special Olympics prior to joining FCBDD; and

 

WHEREAS, under Jed’s leadership, FCBDD has expanded their influence and proudly supports over 20,000 individuals with disabilities and their family members through direct services and community partnerships; and

 

WHEREAS, Jed’s dedication to service and compassion for others has led FCBDD to provide holistic services for individuals at all stages of life, including career assistance, educational support, housing and independent living advocacy, and community building; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus commends Jed’s work in making Franklin County a more welcoming, accessible, and inclusive place for community members with disabilities and wishes him a relaxing and fulfilling retirement surrounded by his loved ones; now, therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council recognizes Jed Morrison and congratulates him on his retirement from the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
