Explanation
Title
To honor and recognize Crew Stadium for hosting the 2004 World Cup Qualifying Matches and to congratulate the Columbus Crew Soccer team on advancing to the final round of qualifying matches.
Body
WHEREAS, Columbus City Council congratulates Columbus Crew Stadium on being the only city/stadium duo chosen to host two World Cup Qualifying Matches in 2004; and,
WHEREAS, the Men's National Team is unbeaten at Columbus Crew Stadium; and,
WHEREAS, we also extend congratulations to the Columbus Crew Soccer team for advancing to the final round of qualifying matches; and,
WHEREAS, we encourage all soccer fans throughout the Midwest to support the Columbus Crew soccer team during their 2005 season; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That we honor and recognize Crew Stadium for hosting the 2004 World Cup Qualifying Matches and to congratulate the Columbus Crew Soccer team on advancing to the final round of qualifying matches.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be presented as a token of our esteem.
