To honor, recognize and celebrate the life of Patricia Powell, 1935-2026

WHEREAS, Patricia Ann “Pat” Powell was born on June 25th, 1935; and
WHEREAS, Patricia was a public servant who dedicated her life to serving her community and strengthening democracy through active participation and leadership with the Franklin County Democratic Party, Franklin County Democratic Women’s Club, Federated Democratic Women of Ohio, National Council of Negro Women; and
WHEREAS, Patricia was an active member of the Franklin County Democratic Party for more than 30 years, during which she served on its Screening Committee, Racial Equity Committee, and at the time of her passing served on the Executive Committee, and spent over 20 years as a seasonal clerk with the Franklin County Board of Elections; and
WHEREAS, Patricia has left a legacy in Columbus of unwavering dedication to her community, her faith, and the causes she believed in, leaving an enduring and unforgettable impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Patricia Ann Powell, and countless other colleagues, faith leaders, and loved ones across Columbus and beyond; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this council does hereby honor, recognize, and celebrate the life of Patricia Ann “Pat” Powell.
