Explanation
Background:
This ordinance will allow the Director of Recreation and Parks to enter into a contract with LifeCare Alliance in connection with the Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program.
This program will provide vouchers for seniors to redeem with local organized market including the North Market in Franklin County.
Emergency action is requested so that the program can be implemented by June 1, 2005 in accordance with grant conditions.
Fiscal Impact:
$107,699.00 is required from the Recreation and Parks Grant fund.

Body
Whereas, federal and state funding for the Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program was awarded to the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging from the Ohio Department of Aging.
Whereas, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of the Recreation and Parks Department in that it is immediately necessary to enter into said contract as services need to be implemented by June 1, 2005; Now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That the Director of Recreation and Parks be and he is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract in the amount of $107,699.00 with LifeCare Alliance for the Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program for the period June 1, 2005 through October 31, 2005.
Section 2. That the expenditure of $107,699.00 or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and is hereby authorized from Recreation and Parks Grant Fund No. 286, Department No. 51, Object Level Three, 3337 to pay the cost thereof as follows:
