To honor and recognize the Diocese of Southern Ohio Episcopal Church Women on the occasion of the Province V Annual Meeting, and to welcome Province V Annual Meeting attendees to Columbus.
 
Body
 
WHEREAS, the Episcopal Church Women are women of all ages, ethnic groups, and socioeconomic backgrounds who hold a variety of views but are united in their wish to do God's work; and
 
WHEREAS, the Episcopal Church Women have been at the forefront of our nation's movements for women's rights, social justice, equality for all, and a clean environment; and   
 
WHEREAS, among the many ECW programs administered nationally and locally are the Women to Women program, which assists women by granting seed funds for the development of projects providing sustainable incomes, lifestyle improvements, and strengthened communities; and also the Women of Vision leadership development program, which was established in 1987 to provide leadership tools to women in both spiritual and secular settings; and
 
WHEREAS, the Diocese of Southern Ohio Episcopal Church Women is an active chapter in Province V, which is made up of Episcopal dioceses in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Ohio; and
 
WHEREAS, the Diocese of Southern Ohio Episcopal Church Women will host the Province V Annual Meeting, featuring a keynote address by the Rev. Dr. Barbara C. Crafton, at the Concourse Hotel in Columbus May 13th-15th, 2011; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
 
That we honor and recognize the Diocese of Southern Ohio Episcopal Church Women on the occasion of the Province V Annual Meeting, and welcome Province V Annual Meeting attendees to Columbus.
