To recognize Scioto Educational Foundation, the Turkish-American Community of Columbus, and the 2007 Ohio Statehouse Intercultural Iftar Dinner.
Body
WHEREAS, on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium at 7:00 PM Scioto Educational Foundation will organize "2007 Ohio Statehouse Intercultural Ramadan Iftar Dinner," a dinner celebrating the diversity of the State of Ohio; and
WHEREAS, the holy Muslim month of Ramadan is a month of blessing for both Muslim and all citizens of the State of Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Scioto Educational Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded by Turkish-Muslims throughout the State of Ohio to promote interfaith and intercultural respect and understanding; and
WHEREAS, Ohio Statehouse Intercultural Ramadan Iftar Dinner will be an opportunity to further mutual understanding; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That the Council of the City of Columbus commends Scioto Educational Foundation, and the Turkish-American Community of Columbus for organizing "2007 Ohio Statehouse Intercultural Ramadan Iftar Dinner."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be presented as a token of our esteem.
