Explanation

The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the Director of Public Utilities to increase an existing purchase order with CAD Concepts, Inc. to provide as-built drawing services for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage. This ordinance also requests waiver of the competitive bid provisions because CAD Concepts, Inc. has been providing the service through a contract with the division. This final modification will complete all work related to processing the backlog of Manhole/Structure Inventory Update Sheets.

The City of Columbus, Department of Public Utilities, Division of Sewerage and Drainage's Map Room has a backlog of privately constructed collection system drawings that need to be brought up to as-built conditions, Completion of this work is necessary to provide up to date mapping and construction drawings to city staff, local businesses and the residents of Columbus.

It is requested that this ordinance be considered an emergency measure so that services will not be interrupted.

Supplier: CAD Concepts, Inc.: 31-1390280 (002)

Fiscal Impact:
$20,000.00 was established in 2002 (ED-009115) to establish the full scope of work and procedures. The contract was modified for $56,708.24 in 2002 via EL-oo003057. This final modification for $24,948.00 will complete all required work. Funding is available in the Sewerage System Operating Fund.
