Explanation
The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the Director of Finance to enter into a contract with Bobcat of Columbus, Inc. for the purchase of an All Wheel Steer Loader for the Division of Sewerage and Drainage, Sewer Maintenance Operations Center. This equipment will be used for various sewer line maintenance and construction projects. It replaces BT10820.
The Purchasing Office opened formal bids on July 17, 2003, SA-000482GRW, for the purchase of an All Wheel Steer Loader. Three (3) bids were received. A tabulation of the bid proposals follows:
Franklin Tractor Sales: $28,408.06
Lorenz Equipment Co: $28,850.00
Bobcat of Columbus, Inc: $40,954.00
The bids received from Franklin Tractor Sales and Lorenz Equipment Co. were deemed non-responsive to the material specifications. Their equipment did not include the requirement of all wheel steering and skid steering modes.
SUPPLIER: Bobcat of Columbus, Inc (31-0857096)
FISCAL IMPACT: $40,954.00 is needed and budgeted for this purchase.
Emergency legislation is being requested so the equipment can be ordered at the earliest time available.
