Explanation

BACKGROUND:

This ordinance authorizes the amendment of ordinance 2218-2024 to authorize the Director of Public Service to enter into a grant agreement with The Columbus Foundation. The funding, purpose, and nature authorized by ordinance 2218-2024 remain the same. This amendment is intended strictly to make a payment to The Columbus Foundation, the Keep Columbus Beautiful Foundation (“KCB Foundation”) versus requiring an agreement.

Fiscal Impact: This ordinance amends Ordinance 2218-2024 with no fiscal impact to the funds authorized through it.

WHEREAS, This ordinance authorizes the amendment of ordinance 2218-2024 to authorize the Director of Public Service to enter into a grant agreement with The Columbus Foundation.; and

WHEREAS, the funding, purpose, and nature authorized by ordinance 2218-2024 remain the same; and

WHEREAS, this amendment is intended strictly to make a grant payment to The Columbus Foundation, the KCB Foundation versus requiring an agreement; and

WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the usual daily operation of The Department of Public Service in that it is immediately necessary to amend ordinance 2218-2024 as soon as possible to distribute funding to local community for the City’s litter mitigation initiative, for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, property, and safety,; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 2218-2024 be and is hereby amended as follows:
