Explanation
BACKGROUND: Ordinance 1150-2009, passed September 21, 2009, authorized the Director of the Department of Development to modify and increase contracts with various contractors for additional grass mowing and litter control services during the 2009 season as part of the Weed Abatement Program. It has since been determined that one contractor, EJ Lawn Service, is unable to provide the additional services. Higher Ground Commercial Maintenance, an established contractor currently working in the Weed Abatement Program, has been selected to replace EJ Lawn Service as a contracting entity to receive additional work. This ordinance amends Ordinance 1150-2009 by removing EJ Lawn Service and adding Higher Ground Commercial Maintenance LLC.
FISCAL IMPACT: No additional funds are required for this amendment.
Emergency action is required so that grass mowing and litter control services will not be interrupted.

To amend Ordinance 1150-2009, passed September 21, 2009, for the purpose of replacing EJ Lawn Service with Higher Ground Commercial Maintenance LLC to provide additional grass mowing and litter control services as part of the Weed Abatement Program; and to declare an emergency.
