Background:
Proposals were received by the Recreation and Parks Department on February 8, 2008 to perform engineering services for a 0.80 mile extension of the Scioto Trail, from Riversedge to Fifth Avenue. Proposals were received from the following firms:

Based on the interviews conducted by the City, the firm of DLZ, Inc. was selected for the following reasons, which include but are not limited to: prior experience with similar City of Columbus projects; engineering expertise to investigate multiple trail alignment options; project presentation; firm location as it relates to project site and fee proposal.
This legislation will authorize the Director to enter into contract with DLZ, Inc. to perform engineering services for the extension of the Scioto Trail, from Riversedge to Fifth Avenue. Services for this 0.80 extension will include preliminary plans, design development, cost estimates, final alignment and final construction plans. The Scioto Trail is a regional greenway that currently terminates at the Riversedge Office Complex along Dublin Road. This section will extend the trail along the river and Dublin Road right-of-way, ending at the Fifth Avenue intersection with Dublin Road.
