Explanation

BACKGROUND: The Board of Health has a need to contract for Medical Director services from Primary One Health. This contract will provide medical director services for the Women’s Health and Family Planning Clinic (WHFPC) at Columbus Public Health, for the period of April 1, 2017 through March 31, 2018. Services to be provided include oversight for the medical functions of the clinic, gynecologic exams, contraceptive services, screening and treatment of STDs; and on call services for patients of the WHFPC. Formal bids were not solicited; therefore, this ordinance waives competitive bidding provisions. Primary One Health's contract compliance number is 311533908.

FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this expenditure is budgeted in the Health Department Grants Fund. This ordinance is contingent on Ordinance No. 0728-2017.

Body

WHEREAS, the Board of Health has a need for Primary One Health to provide medical director services for the Women’s Health and Family Planning Clinic (WHFPC) for the period of April 1, 2017 through March 31, 2018, and,

WHEREAS, Primary One Health has the expertise to provide medical director services to patients in the Women’s Health and Family Planning Clinic (WHFPC) , and,

WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interests to waive the competitive bidding provisions of Chapter 329 of the Columbus Code to enter into this contract; and

WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Board of Health to authorize the Board to enter into contract with Primary One Health for the public health, safety and welfare; Now, therefore,
