To Celebrate the Irish Heritage and Contributions of Officer Seth C. Browning to the city of Columbus, on Irish Proclamation Day, 2026.

WHEREAS, Officer Browning is a native of Columbus and grew up on the South End on East Jenkins Avenue, where he connected with the Police in his neighborhood and community as a young child, inspiring him to become a Columbus Police Officer when he grew up; and
WHEREAS, upon graduating high school, Officer Browning entered the United States Marine Corp. Seth got out of the Marine Corp in 2018 after dedicating six years of active military service and pursued his aspiration of becoming a Columbus Police Officer; and
WHEREAS, on June 17, 2019, Seth joined the Columbus Division of Police Officer. He began his career serving the citizens of Columbus’ west side on third shift. In April 2022, Officer Browning accepted his current assignment to 11 Precinct B Company, where he proudly serves the South End community he called home during his childhood; and
WHEREAS, Officer Browning currently serves as a Patrol Rifle Officer, a member of the Columbus Police Dive Team, and an active member of the Columbus Police Honor Guard. In 2024, he joined the Division’s Field Training Program. He has since mentored and coached 19 probationary officers, fostering professionalism, confidence, and a strong commitment to public service; and
WHEREAS, in addition to serving our communities, Seth enjoys being outdoors, hiking, kayaking, hanging out with friends, and is an active member of the Emerald Society of Columbus.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: That this Council celebrates the Irish Heritage and Contributions of Officer Seth C. Browning to the City of Columbus on Irish Proclamation Day, 2026.
