Explanation 

 

This ordinance authorizes the City Auditor to encumber funds for a contract to provide programming support. 

 

Funds will be used to support scholarships and education costs, support for student and parent workshops, and supply drives for K-12 aged students and their families

 

By way of this ordinance the City Auditor is authorized to encumber funds for a contract for programming support in an amount up to $10,000.00 with a to-be-determined vendor; to authorize an appropriation and expenditure in an amount up to $10,000.00 within the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund. 

 

FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this grant agreement is available within the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund.  

 

Title 

 

To establish a general budget reservation in support of scholarships and education costs, support for student and parent workshops, and supply drives for K-12 aged students and their families. ($10,000.00) 

 

Body 

 

WHEREAS, funds will support scholarships and education costs, support for student and parent workshops and supply drives for K-12 aged students and their families; and 

 

WHEREAS, Columbus City Council seeks to support Columbus’ students across all neighborhoods; and

 

WHEREAS, it has become necessary to authorize a budget reservation in support of educational program support; now therefore, 

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS: 

 

SECTION 1. That the expenditure of $10,000.00, or so much thereof as necessary, is hereby authorized in the Neighborhood Initiatives subfund, fund 1000, subfund 100018, per the accounting codes in the attachment to this ordinance. 

 

SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect at the earliest date allowable by law.
