Explanation

Background: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to renew and modify a contract for the Facilities Management Division with Roto Rooter. This contract is for preventive maintenance and repair of grease traps, grease interceptors, and septic tanks at various City-owned facilities. This is the second of three renewal options. The original contract was bid in February 2006 (SA001917). Legislation was not necessary because the total amount in year one and year two did not exceed $20,000.00. This is a modification because Fire Stations 8, 22, and 24 are being added to the contract. These locations have grease interceptors for which neither Facilities Management nor Roto Rooter have information.

Roto Rooter Contract Compliance Number 42-0499300, expiration date 03/11/2010.

Fiscal Impact: The Facilities Management Division budgeted $20,000.00 for this contract in 2008. The total amount of this request is $23,395.00. The additional amount will be made up through savings in other contracts.

WHEREAS, the Facilities Management Division has a contract for the preventive maintenance and repair of grease traps, grease interceptors, and septic tanks at various City-owned facilities, and

WHEREAS, Bid SA001917 was awarded to Roto Rooter in 2006, and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to renew the contract with Roto Rooter for said services; now, therefore:

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
