Explanation
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this legislation is to authorize the Director of the Department of Finance and Management to enter into a contract with Murphy Tractor and Equipment Co., Inc. for the purchase of a Backhoe loader and accessories for the Division of Water Reclamation. The Backhoe will be used by Southerly Water Reclamation Plant for various maintenance projects around the facility. These purchases are approved by the Division of Fleet Management and will replace BT16127.
The Division of Water Reclamation recommends the award be made to Murphy Tractor and Equipment Co., Inc., bidding the exact make and model for an award amount of $126,985.00.
PROCUREMENT
The Purchasing Office advertised and solicited competitive bids in accordance with the relevant provisions of City Codes Chapter 329 relating to competitive bidding (RFQ030869). Forty-nine (49) vendors were solicited and two (2) majority bids were received, which were opened on August 21, 2025. Despite this, a bid waiver is required in order to update the quote date, which expired.
