To Honor and Celebrate the Retirement of Susan Wilson on her Retirement and her Service to the City of Columbus

WHEREAS, this Council honors and recognizes Susan Wilson for her outstanding service to her community by giving her skills, energy, time, and commitment toward the betterment the City of Columbus by serving the professionals and managers covered by CWA Local 4502; and
WHEREAS, Susan was elected by her fellow union members to the position of President, and has proudly served as the President of CWA Local 4502 for over 11 years, uplifting the voices and interests of workers in the Columbus region. Prior to serving as President, Susan served as the Vice President and Secretary of Local 4502; and
WHEREAS, Susan was elected by her fellow union members to the position of President, and has proudly served as the President of CWA Local 4502 for over 11 years, uplifting the voices and interests of workers in the Columbus region. She has served on several contract negotiation teams, fighting for better wages, improved paid leave, training opportunities and more; and
WHEREAS, Susan was instrumental in securing Hero Pay for her members who were deemed essential or had consistent and on-going contact and interaction with residents of the city during the COVID-19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, Susan holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from Ohio University, and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rio Grande; and
WHEREAS, Wilson’s leadership in the Central Ohio labor community will be greatly missed as she is a fierce advocate for her members, and our community; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council honors and celebrates Susan Wilson on her well-earned retirement and her service to the City of Columbus, and wishes her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
