Title
To recognize and congratulate the Ohio Department of Development, Minority Business Enterprise Division (MBED) for expanding business opportunities for minority and small business owners.
Body
WHEREAS, the Ohio Department of Development, Minority Business Enterprise Division (MBED), in cooperation with the Global Markets Division and Entrepreneurship and Small Business Division, will host its first annual statewide Minority Business International Trade Conference on October 2, 2008; and
WHEREAS, this year's conference theme is "Global ReadinessÂ…Preparing Minority Owned Businesses for the Global Market"; and
WHEREAS, The Keynote speaker will be Earl G. Graves, Jr., President and Chief Operating Officer for Earl G. Graves Publishing Company, publisher of BLACK ENTERPRISE Magazine; and
WHEREAS, the conference will give Ohio's minority and small businesses opportunities to learn what is required to do business globally with Africa, Canada, China, Mexico, and Brazil; and
WHEREAS, Columbus City Council recognizes the importance of cultivating and expanding business opportunities for minority and small business owners; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
That this Council does hereby recognize and congratulate the Ohio Department of Development, Minority Business Enterprise Division (MBED) for expanding business opportunities for minority and small business owners and welcomes men and women from around Ohio to Columbus for the 2008 Minority Business International Trade Conference.
