Explanation
BACKGROUND: This legislation authorizes the Finance and Management Director to establish Universal Term Contracts (UTC) for the option to purchase Conductor Wire and Cable with American Wire Group LLC and Consolidated Electrical Distributors Inc. The Division of Power is the sole user of electrical equipment and components and supplies. Electrical equipment and components and supplies are used throughout the electrical distribution system. The term of the proposed option contracts would be approximately three years, expiring March 31, 2029, with the option to renew for two (2) additional years or portion thereof. The Purchasing Office opened formal bids on January 15, 2026. In addition, the expenditure of $2.00 is hereby authorized from General Budget Reservation BRPO003264.
The Purchasing Office advertised and solicited competitive bids in accordance with the relevant provisions of Section 329 relating to competitive bidding (Request for Quotation No. RFQ031586). Three bids were received.
The Purchasing Office is recommending awards to the overall lowest, responsive, responsible and best bidders as follows:
American Wire Group LLC, CC# CC-009875 expires 1/7/2028, Items 1-7; 22; 24; 61-63; 66-67; and 78, $1.00
Consolidated Electrical Distributors Inc. CC# CC-010270 expires 3/28/2027, Items 8-15; 17-21; 23; 25-60; 64-65; 68-71; 73-74; 77; 79-85
Total Estimated Annual Expenditure: $250,000.00, Division of Power, the sole user.
These companies are not debarred according to the Excluded Party Listing System of the Federal Government or prohibited from being awarded a contract according to the Auditor of State Unresolved Findings for Recovery Certified Search.
FISCAL IMPACT: The expenditure of $2.00 is hereby authorized from General Budget Reservation BRPO003264. City Agencies will be required to obtain approval to expend from their own appropriations for their estimated annual expenditures.
