Body

Columbus City Council extends sincere condolences to the family and friends of Pastor E.A. Parham of Trinity Baptist Church on this sorrowful occasion of his passing.

Early in life Pastor Parham knew he was destined for a greater work and attended Virginia Seminary in Lynchburg, VA in 1942. He quickly answered his calling and graduated from Shaw Divinity School in 1946. He also received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Shaw in 1958.

After several assignments with the Missionary Baptist Church Pastor Parham found a home in Columbus, OH. Since 1949, Pastor Parham has been a faithful shepherd to his flock at Trinity Baptist Church.

Under the Pastors direction, Trinity Baptist Church has become a pillar of the Columbus community. Pastors Parham's prison ministry was one of the first of its kind in Columbus and continues to serve the community. Pastor Parham was untiring in his dedication to the people of God. He could often be found helping those in need by not only providing Godly wisdom, but also giving freely any resource that he had.

As we continue in the Lords service, Pastor Parham's legacy can live on in each of us through the words of wisdom that he has provided. As we reflect on his life and how fortunate we were to have been touched by a friend of Gods such as Pastor Parham, let us remember "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."

Now let us comfort one another with the love of the Lord and in the knowledge that Pastor Parham has fought the good fight and finished his course. Henceforth, there is laid up for him a crown of righteousness; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:

That this Council does hereby pay tribute to the memory of a truly honorable man, Pastor E.A. Parham.
