Explanation
BACKGROUND:
The Human Resources Department requests to modify the contract with Community Insurance Company dba Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to update the COBRA fee schedule. This is solely an administrative modification; no additional funds are being requested. The modification is necessary as the incorrect COBRA fee schedule was attached to the original contract.
The contract term is 3 years, with two (2) one (1) year renewals and the initial contract was approved under Ordinance 3369-2025.

Body
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Columbus to enter into a contract modification with Community Insurance Company dba Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield modification to update the COBRA fee schedule; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary in the usual daily operation of the Department of Human Resources to modify the contract with Community Insurance Company dba Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
SECTION 1. That the Director of the Department of Human Resources is hereby authorized to enter into a contract modification with Community Insurance Company dba Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield modification to update the COBRA fee schedule.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
